Microsoft has released Update Rollup 4 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (KB 968176).
This is a cumulative set of updates and hotfixes to enhance technical and functional performance.
More detail is at the Microsoft Knowledge Base page for KB 968176 and it’s available for download.
Although this Rollup can be uninstalled, I’d recommend thoroughly reading the Knowledge Base article, deploying this to your test environment first, and fully backing up your CRM production system before implementing it.

I’ve been falling a bit behind on keeping this place up to date.
Microsoft recently released Update Rollup 3 for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 (KB 961768). The update rollup contains a cumulative collection of updates and hotfixes.
Additional detail is at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=961768
The download is at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=05453fa4-9551-4a88-9852-634a9ad0e140
Microsoft recently changed the frequency of update rollup releases. They used to release them a couple times a year. Now they’re planning to release them in eight week cycles so we should see another one sometime in May.
I would strongly suggest applying this Update Rollup in your test environment first to see if it causes any issues. The last one, Update Rollup 2 (and the slightly revised one they released I call Update Rollup 2-1/2), caused a few different issues. Some companies ran into quirkiness with stuff like navigation and workflow after applying UR2.
And make sure to do a full backup before applying it. But you do that regularly anyway, right?
