About Me

My Job

I’m a Senior Consultant with Hitachi Consulting specializing in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. Among a lot of other things, Hitachi has an award-winning Microsoft Dynamics consulting practice that provides consulting and implementation services for Microsoft Dynamics CRM and other Dynamics products.

My Disclaimer

So while I do the best I can to stick to CRM stuff and keep opinions to a minimum this blog represents my personal views which may or may not be the same views of my employer.  No warranty expressed or implied. You use any information here at your own risk. There, done.

Me

I’ve worked with a variety of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications since 1997 and got involved with Microsoft Dynamics CRM when it was initially released back in 2002. Along the way I’ve picked up quite a bit of knowledge and several certifications including Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist for Dynamics CRM (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA), and Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP).

Hitachi What?

“Hey I thought Hitachi made televisions and stuff”. They do. Hitachi LTD http://www.hitachi.com offers  a huge  range  of business and consumer products and services. And when I say huge range I’m not kidding. I recently bought a Hitachi hard drive for my home computer.  I’m part of the Hitachi Consulting division http://www.hitachiconsulting.com/ which offers technology consulting and implementation services for businesses. Hitachi is regularly recognized as one of the world’s leading technology companies. My group works with a wide variety of business sizes and types so don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

The Blog

One big gap I find with CRM as a whole is lack of emphasis on business. Customers, vendors, and blogs seem to be interested in the technology. All of that technology stuff is important too but CRM is a bit different from most software. How much business value it provides depends on how well it’s aligned with the business. So to help fill the gap this blog will cover some technical stuff for IT people plus information that CRM users and business people might find helpful.

Comments, feedback, and suggestions are welcome.

All the best,

Paul Velgos
